Job Overview: 

Cogent People Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Software Developer (Mid-Level) to join our innovative IT team supporting a federal healthcare program. In this role, you will assess and analyze organizational processes and technologies to support the development of scalable, secure, and efficient technical solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in AWS, AI Architecture, Python, and Apache Spark, and will contribute to mission-critical initiatives through thoughtful system design and implementation. 

Responsibilities: 

• Analyze business processes and system workflows, assess current-state environments, and define technical requirements for future-state solutions. 
• Design, implement, and manage core infrastructure services on Amazon Web Services (AWS), ensuring alignment with best practices for performance and security. 
• Develop and support AI-driven solutions, leveraging Python and modern data architectures such as Apache Spark. 
• Monitor system performance and recommend improvements, optimizing environments for scalability and reliability. 
• Collaborate closely with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to deliver comprehensive technical solutions in Agile or hybrid environments. 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience. 
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in: 
• Amazon Web Services (AWS)  
• AI Architecture  
• AWS Core Infrastructure  
• Python Programming  
• Apache Spark Operations  
• Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices preferred. 
• Proven ability to develop secure, scalable, and optimized solutions in cloud-based environments. 
• Strong organizational and communication skills to support collaborative technical solutioning and project delivery. 
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Associate) 
• Experience supporting federal healthcare programs or working in a government contracting environment. 
• Familiarity with machine learning pipelines or large-scale data processing frameworks.
