Description
Summary:
Compiles, and analyzes sales and pricing data to determine price sensitivity of products and to recommend price objectives for the purchasing team, as well as creates and manages reporting for the purchasing team by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compiles information from retail locations, online databases, and other sources to keep informed on price trends and common retail pricing strategy.
- Develops and maintains reporting for purchasing and accounting.
- Leverages historical data for pricing analysis and cluster analysis.
- Confers with buyers and analyzes sales history to determine factors that affect prices.
- Track results from pricing recommendations and prepares reports, charts, and graphs of findings.
- Evaluates findings and makes recommendations to purchasing personnel regarding pricing strategies, and competitive product assortments.
- Occasional overnight travel as warranted by the position.
- Employee must be capable of programming in VBA.
- Employee must be able to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
- Employee must be physically present at the worksite. Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- One-year college business courses or relevant office experience.
- Strong organizational and planning skills to ensure timely and accurate execution of responsibilities.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Advanced computer skills in Excel and email with an aptitude for learning new programs.
- Efficient team player with a strong work ethic.
- Detail oriented.
- Excellent analytical skills, able to create, understand and effect business through spreadsheets.
- Understanding of retail math, price point analysis, inventory turns and margin.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years college courses in business administration or relevant work experience.
- Retail operations or merchandising experience.
