PURPOSE OF POSITION:  

An AI Director at Catholic Charities: 


Leads the development, deployment, and lifecycle management of AI-driven solutions across Catholic Charities. This role bridges the gap between business needs and technical execution, ensuring that AI products deliver measurable value while aligning with our mission and operational goals.  


Product Strategy & Vision 

  • Define and communicate a clear product vision for AI initiatives that align with organizational priorities. 
  • Identify opportunities for AI integration that enhance operational efficiency, client service, and data-driven decision-making. 

Cross-Functional Leadership 

  • Collaborate with IT team, PMO Office, ministry leaders, operations, and compliance teams to scope, build, and deploy AI solutions. 
  • Stay up to date with the latest model capabilities, pitfalls, trends and use cases. 

Product Development & Execution 

  • Own the AI product roadmap, prioritize features based on impact and feasibility, and manage the product backlog. 
  • Oversee the development and refinement of AI models, ensuring ethical use, data privacy, and regulatory compliance. 
  • Build appropriate software applications as needed to increase efficiency and reduce costs across the agency.  

Performance & Risk Management 

  • Define KPIs and success metrics for AI products; monitor performance and iterate based on feedback and data. 
  • Ensure responsible AI use by adhering to internal policies such as the Company AI Acquisition and Acceptable Use Policy v1.0. 

Change Management & Training 

  • Support organizational readiness by contributing to AI training programs and change management strategies. 
  • Promote AI literacy and adoption across departments, leveraging insights from internal surveys and task force discussions.

Requirements

 QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, model lifecycle, and AI ethics. 
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects. 
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills. 
  • Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Catholic Charities’ staff and with a diverse client base. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  

Bachelor’s or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field or equivalent from an accredited university plus five years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

$90,000 annually
