Job Summary

The Data Analyst works across company functions to coordinate, maintain, and manage reporting, master data, and data structure in multiple data sets (sales, product/technical, for example). The Data Analyst will work across company systems (ERP, Excel, Access, SQL) and departments to ensure consistent and high-fidelity information. The position will work primarily with the Product, Finance, and Supply Chain teams. The role will require experience with data analytics and understand data analysis tools and databases with the ability to mine data for reporting purposes. 


Reports to Vice President, Supply Chain


Essential Functions:

Data analysis and Reporting

  • Creation, analysis, improvement, and dissemination of BI reports and/or dashboards for Management and Leadership.
  • Assist management in the design of databases and models.
  • Leveraging data to identify opportunities and improvements, and present findings across multi-levels of the organization.
  • Prepare and provide thoughtful analysis on variances for reports including but not limited to: Revenue, gross margin, expenses, and profit for the areas supported.
  • Initiate and Institute KPIs to measure the effectiveness of the company’s business decisions and risks.
  • Assist finance and business teams in the annual budget and quarterly financial forecast process
  • Creation of graphs, charts, spreadsheets, and other methods to visualize data.
  • Assist business planning team with various forecasting and analysis.

General

  • Prepare and format data into presentations.
  • Ensure information reported is consistent, accurate, and easy to understand for the intended audience such as Board of Directors, Senior Company leadership, Finance team members, and others.
  • Work with ERP data tables such as Item Master, Pricing Master, etc.
  • Work with Sr. Management and other business leaders to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Other Duties assigned by Management.

Key skills and competencies of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Proficiency with Computers, Microsoft Office, Excel, Access/SQL.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting/business principles, systems and practice; analysis, budgeting, forecasting.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build analytical tools, templates, and financial models.
  • High degree of detail, analytical, organizational skill, and problem-solving ability; ability to work as self-starter.
  • Ability to consolidate information into actionable insight.  

Measurements of the role:

  • Consistency and reliability of reporting.
  • Data hygiene (duplicates/maintenance).
  • As assigned.
     

Work Environment
This job operates in both a professional office and warehouse/shop environment. The individual in this role will also perform some job duties outdoors. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.


Physical Demands

The individual in this position will spend several hours sitting and using office equipment and computers, which can cause muscle strain. 


Schedule and Availability

Ability to work hours office hours as assigned by management. Typical office hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm; overtime as required/approved by management. 

Requirements

  

Qualifications, Education and Experience

· Progress towards a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Finance, or Data Science (but not limited to) or equivalent work experience.

· High competency in Excel inclusive of more advanced functions such as pivot, slicers, macros.

· Literate in database design and functions (Field definitions, unique IDs, relationships) and functions/applications (Access, SQL, Python).

· Competent in MS access, SQL and/or Python (ability to write queries, reports from multiple tables).
