Job Summary:
Under the guidance of the Director of Analytics, the Senior Data Scientist plays a critical role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making across the organization. This position is responsible for analyzing complex datasets—both structured and unstructured—to uncover trends, evaluate program outcomes, and support predictive modeling efforts in areas such as pricing, claims forecasting, and customer segmentation. The Senior Analytics Consultant will collaborate with cross-functional teams to scope and execute analytical projects, develop intuitive dashboards and reports, and communicate findings in a clear, business-focused manner. This role also contributes to data quality initiatives, supports the creation of curated analytic datasets, and stays current with industry innovations to continuously enhance Aspire’s analytics capabilities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze structured and unstructured datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities across business functions.
- Conduct exploratory and ad hoc analyses to answer key business questions and inform strategic initiatives.
- Support the development of predictive models (e.g., pricing, claims forecasting, fraud detection, customer segmentation).
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor KPIs and operational performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define metrics and build intuitive visualizations using tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Conduct statistical analysis to evaluateprogram outcomes and A/B test results.
- Partner with cross-functional teams in underwriting, product, and marketing to scope and execute analytical projects.
- Translate business needs into data questions and communicate findings in a clear, actionable format.
- Work with data engineering and governance teams to improve data quality, standardization, and documentation.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of curated data assets and analytic datasets.
- Stay current with industry trends and innovations in insurance analytics.
- Share best practices with peers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.
Education/Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Economics, Computer Science); master’s degree preferred.
· 4+ years of experience in a data analytics role, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
· Experience working with insurance data (e.g., policy, claims, rating, or telematics) is a strong plus.
· Prior experience in the auto insurance industry is preferred.
Skills:
· Expertise in predictive modeling, machine learning, and statistical analysis.
· Comfortable working with large, complex datasets and producing repeatable, production-ready analyses.
· Strong command of tools such as Python, R, SQL, and modern data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
· Proven ability to communicate complex analytics to non-technical stakeholders.
· Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Databricks) is a plus.
· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
· Solid understanding of Actuarial concepts, up to exam 5 concepts, is a plus.

Fast-paced environment with performance metrics.

Frequent collaboration with cross-functional teams across time zones requiring flexibility in scheduling.
May require occasional travel (up to 10–15%) to company offices, vendor sites, or industry conferences.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer (up to 8 hours per day) while working on a desk computer.
