Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) Operations Manager Description
South College is seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Operations Manager to support the Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) team. This role helps to manage daily operations, oversees project workflows, leads the book and materials adoption and fulfillment process, and coordinates vendor relationships.
The ideal candidate will ensure smooth execution of IDT initiatives and maintain strong cross-departmental and vendor communication.
Responsibilities:
- Support Executive Director and Associate Directors of IDT with daily operations to support timely, high-quality course development and maintenance.
- Track and manage instructional design projects from start to finish in partnership with IDT leadership.
- Coordinate the adoption and fulfillment of textbooks and course materials with faculty and vendors.
- Develop and maintain efficient workflows, process documentation, and quality standards.
- Support team onboarding, internal communication, cross-functional collaboration, and information management.
- Support or lead additional projects and departmental priorities as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, HR, Instructional Design & Technology, Information Technology, Business or a related field
- Master’s degree preferred
Certification
- PMP Certification preferred
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in instructional design management, operations coordination or program management, preferably in higher education.
- Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving and time management skills
- Proven ability to maintain attention to detail while effectively managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of Office 365, project management software, learning management systems, and other software applicable to the higher education space.
- Experience with online course development processes preferred
