Lab Operations Supervisor
Description

  • An experienced leader who has functional lab experience and can lead a team to achieve daily objectives.
  • Analytical thinker with strong operational skills.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to focus on the big picture
  • Highly skilled in microbiology etiquette, techniques, methodology, equipment, and supplies.

What This Role Will Accomplish:

  • Oversees all lab personnel, kit sorting, and data entry functions and drives the expectations of our day-to-day performance. 
  • Schedules and assigns employees to meet testing demand.
  • Troubleshoots day to day issues as they arise.
  • Ensures equipment maintenance intervals and activities are performed as needed.
  • Maintains productivity by monitoring the workload of functional areas.
  • Initiates process improvements based on productivity and capacity metrics.
  • Plan and implement overall lab policies and procedures as needed.
  • Bridges gaps in communication between different departments.
  • Perform tests on component samples, conduct an analysis and initiate corrective measures.
  • Responsible for the training and development of team.
  • Capability to support all functions of what is expected in a lab technician, kit sorting, and data entry. 
  • Perform tasks that serve the business even if they are outside of the main responsibilities called out above.


Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Physical Science, or related discipline
  • 2 years lab management or supervisory experience
  • 3+ years of experience operating lab equipment 
  • Overall operations acumen

Desired Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience with Flow Cytometry
  • Experience with water testing
  • Lean, six sigma, or process improvement experience

$75,000 to $90,000
