Job Summary:

At Rocket55, the Digital Marketing Strategist plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing digital strategies that meet client business goals across various channels. As a strategist, you’ll need a comprehensive understanding of the full digital marketing landscape offered by Rocket55, paired with the ability to leverage research, data, and insights to uncover opportunities. You have a unique ability to see both the big picture and intricate details, balancing strategic thinking with execution.


You will bring expertise in brand strategy and messaging, ensuring they are consistently applied across all digital touchpoints. You’re collaborative, adaptable, and focused on generating impactful ideas—regardless of their origin. You thrive in client-facing roles, building trust and strong partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders. Self-driven and resourceful, you can initiate work independently while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

You will report to the Senior Director of Strategy, contributing to both client success and the development of Rocket55’s strategy discipline.

  • Client Strategy Lead (60%): Guide and support digital marketing strategy on a full roster of accounts, partnering with account managers and channel strategists to deliver exceptional client outcomes.
  • Research & Brand Strategy (20%): Conduct audience research, brand workshops, and competitive analysis to inform brand and marketing strategy. Craft messaging and collaborate on brand guidelines and identities.
  • Business Development (10%): Support the creation of proposals and new business opportunities, evaluating market opportunities, and collaborating with the sales team to provide strategic recommendations.
  • Strategic Thought Leadership (10%): Help develop Rocket55’s strategic frameworks, driving innovation across the agency and contributing to the growth of the strategy practice.


Responsibilities:


1. Client Strategy Leadership (60%)

  • Guide and support digital marketing strategy across a portfolio of client accounts, working in collaboration with account managers and channel specialists.
  • Lead strategic planning initiatives in partnership with account managers, ensuring alignment with client business goals.
  • Develop comprehensive digital marketing strategies, incorporating multi-channel approaches (e.g., SEO, paid media, content, social) to drive client growth.
  • Provide strategic recommendations based on data analysis and market insights to inform campaign optimizations and long-term planning.

2. Research & Brand Strategy (20%)

  • Execute audience, market, and competitive research to inform and shape brand and marketing strategies.
  • Lead brand strategy workshops, conduct competitive audits, and perform market analysis to identify opportunities for clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to craft brand messaging and ensure consistent application across digital channels, including website, social, and paid campaigns.
  • Assist in the development of brand guidelines and identities, ensuring alignment with client objectives and target audiences.

3. Business Development (10%)

  • Collaborate with the sales and strategy teams to support the creation of proposals, pitches, and custom responses to new business opportunities.
  • Evaluate market opportunities, providing strategic recommendations that align with potential client needs and industry trends.
  • Contribute to the overall development of strategic frameworks that position Rocket55 as a leader in digital marketing innovation.

4. Strategic Thought Leadership (10%)

  • Socialize strategic frameworks across the agency to drive innovation and best practices within the strategy discipline.
  • Contribute to the growth and evolution of Rocket55’s strategy practice, working closely with the Senior Director of Strategy.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and strategic thinking across account, creative, and delivery teams.
Requirements

Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of Digital Marketing experience, with a strong background in developing and executing multi-channel digital marketing strategies.
  • Deep understanding of a wide range of digital marketing channels (SEO, paid media, social media, email marketing, etc.) and how they contribute to achieving business goals.
  • Experience conducting primary research, including interviews, surveys, user testing, and market analysis, to inform strategic decisions.
  • Expertise in developing and refining brand messaging, strategy, and identity, ensuring alignment with client objectives and market positioning.
  • Strong ability to leverage customer, market, and competitive insights to inform marketing decisions and strategic planning.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience delivering client-facing presentations, workshops, and pitches.
  • Successful track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams, contributors, and stakeholders at various levels of seniority.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, working independently with minimal direction.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an agency setting is preferred.
