South Shore Bank is seeking an in-office, full-time (40 hours per week) Deposit Operations Intern from September 2024 – September 2025. This position will provide an opportunity to work within the Deposit Operations Department of South Shore Bank and work with a highly skilled team to assist the IRA and Operations Manager with core related projects and help with a variety of tasks and projects as needed.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assist the Deposit Operations team with tasks as they relate to the Deposit Operations Department.
  • Clean up current core.
  • Complete assigned tasks tied to core conversion.
  • Assist the QC as needed.
  • Be willing to work on weekends when needed during conversions.
  • Participation in project teams to facilitate process improvement, system implementation, conversions, and data management functions.   
  • Complete all internal Bank training as assigned and required.
  • Adhere to the Bank’s privacy and data security policies including but not limited to safeguarding of sensitive information and complying with relevant regulations to protect non-public information.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

  • High school diploma.
  • Basic understanding of banking principles, familiarity with banking operations and/or finance.
  • Data entry skills - attention to detail; daily report review and dispute process; ability to accurately input and manage data.
  • Experience with providing excellent customer service.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and highly organized.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; strong skills in Excel, Word, and Centrix.

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Salary Description
$19.75 Hourly
