Description

Job Summary

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for driving our mission forward through effective and impactful marketing and communications efforts.  With a deep understanding of marketing and communications principles and best practices, the Marketing and Communications Coordinator will collaborate across Minnesota Independence College and Community (MICC) to assist in creating and executing campaigns that engage and inspire our key audiences, while effectively communicating our organization's message and mission.  The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will coordinate cross-functional campaigns that raise awareness of MICC, drive engagement, and support fundraising efforts.


Duties & Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Thought Partnership

  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate multiple deliverables to ensure on-time delivery, budget adherence, and quality control
  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all communication channels
  • Develop and maintain processes for MICC’s repository of digital assets
  • Collaborate with departments across the organization, such as program and administrative staff, to ensure marketing efforts align with overall goals and mission
  • Collaborate with event organizers for pre-event and post-event promotion
  • Communicate marketing plans, results, and insights to key stakeholders

Marketing Campaigns

  • Implement omni-channel marketing plans to promote MICC and support the organization’s mission, goals, and initiatives, including social media, email, website, and print
  • Write, proofread, and edit creative and technical content across various mediums
  • Manage the organization's website and social media presence, including content creation, follower engagement, and data analysis to measure effectiveness
  • Stay current on marketing trends and adapt the marketing strategy as needed
  • Align efforts with the marketing budget and ensure cost-effective marketing efforts
  • Help to identify key performance metrics and establish systems for tracking/reporting ROI
Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Three to five years of work experience in marketing or related fields
  • Proven experience in marketing, with a focus on nonprofit organizations preferred
  • Strong understanding of traditional and digital marketing channels
  • Proven track record in digital marketing, including content creation, analytics, and search engine optimization

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent command of the English language with outstanding grammar and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft 365 apps, design software, and Google Analytics
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and able to build and sustain relationships
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated care for individuals with autism and learning differences

Paid Time Off (PTO) 

MICC offers a generous amount of Paid Time Off (PTO): 

  • 176 hours / 22 days (prorated upon start date) of paid vacation time 
  • 80 hours / 10 days (accrued at 3.33 hours per pay period) of paid sick time 
  • 80 hours / 10 days (holiday schedule available upon request) of paid holidays 
  • 8 hours / 1 day for floating holiday

$48,600-$58,300/year
